Werditgo

WERDITGO? Keeping track of spending is hard! Especially with the amount of different ways we can spend money nowadays. What if there was a way to combine all spending channels into one app and it kept a tally of how much you’re spending in real time? Werditgo does just that.

USER PERSONA
To better envision how this app will be used for those in different scenarios, I created two personas who would be likely to use Werditgo. First is Shawn Rodriguez, a college student who spends mindlessly and often doesn’t realize just how much he is spending per day. Next is Veronica Puth, a young adult who is stuck in the cycle of credit card debts and would like to escape by being conscious of her spending. Both users will benefit from becoming aware of how much they are spending per day and eliminating mindless spending habits.

USER TESTING
I made sure to find a large variety for my user testers. They ranged from art students to premed students to middle aged business men. From gathering information from a wide variety of users, I was able to fine tune the initial prototype to amplify a smooth user experience as well as address accessibility. The bottom section shows the two most prominent problems that stumped that users which I addressed and found a better solution for.

KEY FUNCTIONS
The main three features of this app includes the ability to sync multiple spending channels into one platform, set a “spending limit” to remind the users to keep their spending under control, and the app features a widget for iOS users so that viewing your total tally of spendings are seen most conveniently.

OVERVIEW TAB
The overview tab in the app allows the users to see how much they’re spending in multiple ways including per day, per week and per month. Users can also see how much they are spending per account such as their checking or credit accounts.

SET A LIMIT
On the Limit section, users can set either a limit for themselves that either generally limits their total spendings per day or even per month. Or the user has the control to limit a specific account. This feature would be useful for users like Veronica who wants to limit her credit card usage.

WIDGET
The widget is the most desirable feature of this app. Without having to open the app or even having to unlock their device, the user can conveniently view their current expenditure throughout the day. The “Show More” will expand the widget to reveal the current balance of the user’s bank account as well.
