MISCONDUCT is a channel that exclusively aires all the popular crime investigation shows— dedicated for the die-hard crime show fans. The aesthetic plays with a fun, choppy motion that accentuates the personality of the brand as well as keeping to a minimal color palette of red and grey featuring bold typography inspired by crime scene tapes. The video is a sizzle reel that embodies the brand identity and visuals for the channel.
The word, “misconduct” flies into the frame then clicks into place as if fitting like puzzle pieces and the red line inspired by the motif used in investigation scene works to balance the logo type.
I found that translating my hand sketches into short motion sketches allowed me to experiment freely with the art direction of the channel’s brand. These sketches became the origin of the “puzzle piece” like choppy motion which was largely utilized in the final brand identity.
